Students in the UK are growing more anxious about the cost of living rising and financial stability decreasing. Speaking with Rachael Mudu and Karis Phidd-Ramsay on the 6th of January we uncovered how university students and surviving in this crisis.

When asked about the preference of moving into an accommodation rather than a house for second year Karis said she would have to take a train which is “more expensive” when accommodation is a 10-minute walk from campus. Rachael supports Karis with it being “cheaper” which would be more convenient.

With the topic of student finance Karis claimed it “barely covered her rent.” However, with the help of her parents she makes it work. Rachael has a similar response with the added pressure of working “two jobs” during summer which is not ideal for a University student.

Though the girls are "grateful" for their parents help, not every University student has this advantage and need other means of surviving in full time education.

The girls said they will make it work by saving, and the preference of staying in “accommodation than a house.”
